Daddy photo 2013 09 01-2Pastor Jan T. Knopper, the owner and main contributor to this website is a native of The Netherlands, Europe, born to parents who joined the Seventh-day Adventist church in 1928 when operating a successful grocery store.

In 1930 father Knopper sold this shop in favour of joining the Seventh-day Adventist literature ministry. However father Knopper suffered from an eye disease, retina pigmentosa, which required him to seek assistance or terminate his ministry. Jan was asked to be his assistant, which lasted ten years, from 1939-1949.

Jan had basic schooling, primary and high school before assisting his father. In 1949 he applied to enroll in the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, which the church operated in the Netherlands. In 1953 he graduated with a Diploma in Theology. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1959. Jan served two different Seventh-day Adventist churches in the Netherlands and was also in charge of the church’s literature ministry.

In 1962 a call was accepted to go to the Congo, Africa, to reconstruct the literature ministry following their civil war. This was followed by another term in the country of Tanzania. In 1971 he was called back to Europe to serve in a division of the Seventh-day Adventist church in charge of the literature ministry dealing with countries in Northern Europe and West Arica. This was followed by fifteen years for the same ministry in the South Pacific based in Wahroonga, Australia.

In 1990 came retirement but followed by pastoral ministry for a church in the Sydney Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1991 Pastor Knopper was asked to go to Russia to reconstruct the literature ministry in the territories of the former Soviet Union. This lasted 15 months.

Upon return to Australia he was asked to take charge of the Adventist Theological Society Australia chapter. This was done for six years when for age and his wife’s health reasons real retirement commenced.

Because of an accumulated amount of Bible studies over the years of ministerial service, it was decided to open a website and make these studies available for the world. This is what you will find on this website. Not only Pastor Knopper’s Bible material but also material from other ministers will be found on the website under the name of the person responsible for that material. His son Eddy is currently the Webmaster. You are welcome to make use of the opportunity to make a comment or raise a question.
