MY BOOK
One of my SDA friends in Holland, Hans van Binsbergen, emailed me the following moving experience. Hans writes as follows:
Every Monday morning I have Bible study with a few men. Through the reading of STEPS TO CHRIST and my study re The Testimony of Jesus these men have become acquainted with the Ministry of Ellen G.White
One of the men was visiting a friend and while talking together he heard in his mind a strong clear voice saying “Go to Stadskanaal to collect your book”
Without a moment hesitation he stood up and travelled the about 30 km to Stadskanaal.
Arriving there he noticed a public second hand book market. He went to one book stall where a sales woman had started to pack up because it was late afternoon.
Without any word of introducing himself, he said to the woman, :I have come to collect my book.”
Again without any question or hesitation the woman took a book not yet packed and handed it to him. The man most happily accepted the book and walk away. At the same time he did not yet clearly realise what had happened. He looked at the book and discovered it is the book De Wens der Eeuwen ( Dutch translation of Desire of Ages)
Now he is even more delighted experiencing himself the working of the Holy Spirit. Three times over he has told this story under a flow of tears for joy.
P.S Hans van Binsbergen was even more impressed because 40 years ago in Africa he read himself into the Advent Message through E.G.White books. That is the time I met him when we were in Congo. An interesting but long story in itself. Jan T.Knopper
